4 Saudi Arabian Astronomer: The Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr is likely to fall on Tuesday (July 29), marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. According to Ali Al-Shukri, it will be difficult to see the crescent on Sunday because the moonlight will be dim and the moon will set around 11 minutes after the sunset.

SA Astronomical Observatory Predictions: The new crescent Moon can generally be seen only if it sets at least 46 minutes after the Sun has set. Astronomers at SA Astronomical Observatory have how ever sighted the Moon earlier – setting at least 33 min after sunset – from Signal Hill in Cape Town, but only if the age of the Moon is at least 24hr old at sunset. May be visible with optical aid from the southern Atlantic  and the southernmost tip of Africa.

1Yemen: Reports of moon sighting were received so the Government has announced the start of Ramadhan from Saturday the 28th of June 2014. It must be noted that this sighting is not possible!

 

2Turkey:  Turkish Government had already announced the start of Ramadhan from Saturday the 28th of June 2014.

 

29JUNE2014:

1Indonesia:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Indonesian Government has announced the start of Ramadhan from Sunday the 29th of June 2014.

 

2Saudia Arabia:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Saudi Government has announced the start of Ramadhan from Sunday the 29th of June 2014.

 

3Egypt:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Egyptian Government has announced the start of Ramadhan from Sunday the 29th of June 2014.

 

4Jordan:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Jordanian Government has announced the start of Ramadhan from Sunday the 29th of June 2014.

 

5Qatar:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Qatari Government has announced the start of Ramadhan from Sunday the 29th of June 2014.

2 India: New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Imarat-e-Sharaiyah-Hind have announced the start of Ramadhan from Monday the 30th of June 2014.
